Below, please find drafts and drawings of how we envision transforming ‘Annapolis Sports Complex’ into ‘Germantown Park’. The plans include replacing the unsafe playground with an inspiring and challenging new playground for kids of all ages, planting trees, as well as adding park benches and picnic tables.
Playground Design: Two phases.
Phase 1 will be installed Fall 2026 and is funded by AACPS
Phase 2’s design is below and will be submitted to the Board of Ed for AACPS for final approval. Phase 2 needs funding! Please donate as the playground can be installed 8-10 weeks after all funds are raised! Donate Here!
Tree Planting Design:
Early design stages, we hope to add shade trees and rebuild sections of ‘forest’ throughout the park while honoring the spaces of the established sports fields and playground.
Amenity Design:
We envision places for our community to enjoy the outdoors. We’ll start with new picnic tables near the playground in the shade of our mature trees. We’ll also add park benches around the playground for caregivers and children as well as benches throughout the park.
